With just a few turbines, Barbados can supply ALL of its National Grid, in a constant, reliable manner with no interruptions. We can also condition the energy to prevent peaks and troughs in generated power to provide consistent, always-on power at inexpensive rates.
The Barbados wind is globally unique. At our AE01 energy facility site, the Trade Winds blow from the east or just north of east all the time (24/7/365), at a constant speed of 15-20 mph with minimal variability.
Everywhere else in the world, the wind blows from all directions at all times of the year. This is important because it enables

Everywhere else in the world, the wind blows from all directions at all times of the year. This is important because it enables our wind turbines to function at maximum capacity, all the time. 40-45% Capacity factors for turbines for the rest of the world could be 60% or even 80% in Barbados.
Ice, icebergs, freezing rain, fog and other northern latitude hazards - do not exist in or around Barbados.
The Arcalis Plan identifies what is needed to completely transform energy provision on Barbados, and throughout the Eastern Caribbean. In the process, Arcalis will enable a number of vertical and support industries and create approximately 420 construction jobs and 215 permanent jobs.

This is a long term vision, with specified, detailed, integrated and focused short-term phases. We cannot build it alone. We need to collaborate with you, and we look forward to it.
